I am a documentary producer, director and journalist...

I produce, direct and bring to life compelling documentaries that explore compelling storytelling for UK television and digital platforms. My mission is to tell challenging social and culturally engaging diverse stories.

From pitching programme ideas, creating narratives, casting, gaining access to marginalised groups, scripting, recruiting crew, navigating the complex legal frameworks through to crafting and refining tricky editorial propositions in the edit to a continuous duty of care to sometimes vulnerable contributors . An ex-self shooter (Sony FS7, Canon C300) I now direct camera ops and for single and multi-cam shoots.

With over 15 years experience my work has taken me to several countries around the world for a variety of broadcasters for large-scale audiences. From Bradford to Bermuda and Hull to Hong Kong.

I thrive on opening doors for the next generation of production talent as a filmmaking tutor and mentor, in particular those who hail from working-class and 2nd generation-immigrant roots like my own.
